We always burn ours – we take a trip down to Golden Gardens and have a bonfire – watch the sun set – and burn up all our sensitive papers. The whole shredding and then putting papers into the recycling loop is probably a little cleaner for the air – I have to wonder about those “green” shopping bags, how many of those are ending up in the landfill and what exactly goes into making one? Shipping them from china? Printing the Group Health Logo?

Please keep using paper, plant more trees then reuse, don’t recycle the paper into mushroom farms (eat less meat) or paper-crete. Or if you need a tote bag, buy a canvas one. Its a one off expense and you can get a design you like rather than be an advert for a multinational corporation.
